Pale Grey Wet Room with Statement Fitted Furniture

Our customer wanted to make better use of their bathroom space and design it so that it met their day to day needs. They no longer wanted their bath as this was rarely used and instead wanted plenty of storage and an area to get ready each day. Keeping the overall look minimal was important so a walk in shower with two fixed screens was the solution.

Design features:

This space was beautifully bright and therefore pale tiles paired with statement furniture in a dark gloss sat together perfectly. The customer wanted to modernise their space but still stay in keeping with the rest of their home; we therefore suggested elements such as the shape of the handles and furniture finish which give a nod to the modern feel perfectly.

Wet rooms are the height of innovation in bathroom design and suit all styles, whether you want modern design or more transitional – a mixture of traditional and contemporary. The shape of the valves and handset are a soft square which links subtly to both styles. Wet room style shower areas open up the space and by concealing your shower and controls, their overall look is very simplistic and not over complicated like some showers can appear.

When designing this set of fitted furniture it was to be an area for getting ready for the day and was to have a luxurious feel. The tones of grey in the marble effect top link perfectly to both the furniture and the tiles and a round LED mirror with a simple backlight makes a beautiful addition. The floor and wall tiles provide a natural base which the light can reflect from and contrasting this with the dark fitted furniture is what adds to the statement.

When going minimal and contemporary, storage is often dismissed, however fitted furniture is the perfect solution as you are able to build it modularly and include exactly what works for you. This can be drawers, doors or even a laundry basket. A couple of small shower shelves were also added into the corner of the shower. These are installed between the tiles, leaving them almost unseen but they keep your bottles off the floor and allow the wet rooms seamless nature remain.
